Delivering safe and reliable drinking water is TVWD's highest priority. We provide water that meets or is better than all federal and state drinking water standards. While the water we receive is treated by our suppliers, TVWD collects hundreds of water samples each month to confirm it remains safe and high-quality as it reaches your home.

Around-the-Clock Monitoring
TVWD’s water system is monitored 24/7 to ensure it operates smoothly and reliably. Using advanced technology, we track key metrics such as water flow, pressure, and reservoir levels. If any anomalies arise, our monitoring system immediately alerts an operator to investigate. During nights and weekends, on-call staff are promptly notified to respond to any issues.

TVWD takes pride in its access to multiple high-quality water sources, which allows us to efficiently manage water supplies, maintain water quality, and control costs to meet customer demands. On average, TVWD supplies approximately 23 million gallons of water per day.

How is my water disinfected?

The safety and quality of your drinking water is our top priority at TVWD. We source water from two primary suppliers: the Joint Water Commission (JWC) and Portland Water Bureau. Each employs distinct disinfection methods to eliminate harmful pathogens.

Fluoride

TVWD fluoridates the water in a significant portion of its service area, including the Cooper Mountain, Aloha, Cedar Mill, Bethany, and West Hills areas. Fluoride is added to the water at a concentration of 0.7 parts per million (ppm).
