The importance of multiple water sources
TVWD customers benefit from a robust and flexible water supply system. With access to multiple sources, TVWD can adjust the amount of water used from each source based on seasonal demand, storage availability, and cost considerations.
In addition to multiple sources, TVWD operates an extensive system of storage tanks and an ASR facility. The ASR allows treated water to be stored underground during times when supplies are plentiful, then used later when supplies are less available or more costly. This strategic approach enhances TVWD’s ability to minimize service interruptions and manage its resources efficiently.
Preparing for the Unexpected
While TVWD strives to provide a reliable water supply, service interruptions can still occur due to maintenance or emergencies, such as natural disasters. We encourage all customers to prepare an emergency water supply at home. For tips on emergency water storage, visit our Emergency Preparedness page.
