TVWD Water System Design & Construction Standards (D&CS) describe the requirements for design and construction of water facilities within District service boundaries, including guidelines for engineers and project managers for the production of engineering plans, material and workmanship standards for contractors who will construct the public water facilities, and set of Detail Drawings.
Updates - Effective July 1, 2026
On July 1, 2026, TVWD will release minor updates to the D&CS on this webpage. Key updates will include:
- Improved detail formatting for CADD reference files
- Updates to approved materials, including water meter boxes
- Clarified standard details
- New Standard Details:
- 302B – Tapping Sleeve for Cathodically Protected Pipe
- 801A – DCDA – Hillsboro Fire Jurisdiction
- 801B – DCDA – TVF&R Jurisdiction
- 805 – 2” and Smaller Double Check Installation
Implementation Requirements
- Projects with active plan approvals must comply with the updated standards before construction begins.
- Projects already under construction are not required to comply.
- Expired approvals and all new submittals on or after July 1, 2026, must meet the updated standards.
