TVWD is working to maintain, improve, and prepare the water system that serves your community to integrate a new water source as early as late-2026.
Be extra cautious in work zones
Winter weather and limited daylight hours adds an extra layer of caution around construction and maintenance activities. Wet leaves, rain, frost, and ice can create slippery conditions.
- Watch your footing and allow extra time.
- Always follow flaggers, posted signage, cones, and any temporary detours designed to keep pedestrians, drivers, and crews safe.
- Slow down, stay alert, and give crews plenty of space to do their jobs safely – and feel free to wave as you pass by!
In addition to large water main replacement projects and major reservoir and pump station construction that will strengthen and make our water system more seismically resilient, TVWD crews are in the field every day operating and maintaining the system across our service area that encompasses over 41 square miles. This includes water valve replacements, fire hydrant repairs, water main flushing, and water meter maintenance. Because of this, you may see TVWD staff and contractors working in your neighborhood even during winter storms or overnight responding to an emergency.
Keep yourself and TVWD crews safe
Heavy equipment and loud noises can make it difficult to navigate through work zones. Please be extra vigilant as you navigate through.
- Obey reduced speed limits in work zones
- Avoid distractions while driving or walking
- Keep pets and children well away from equipment and open work areas
- Don't move cones, barricades, or signage
- Avoid parking near active work sites unless directed otherwise
Your patience and cooperation allow this essential work to continue safely and efficiently, helping ensure reliable, high-quality drinking water for our community year-round.
