What is being done to address affordability?

  • TVWD has funded a temporary enhanced Customer Emergency Assistance Program, which has provided eligible customers with a credit for to up to 28 CCFs of water and fixed charges towards their water balance ($209.40 at November 2021 rates) one time per 12-month period.
  • Eligible residential TVWD customers were also able to receive funding through CARES Act funds and ARPA funds allocated by Washington County, Oregon Emergency Rental Assistance Program, and Low Income Household Water Assistance Programs when those programs were active.

2022 Rate Advisory Committee Formed

  • The Board of Commissioners is asking for recommendations from customers on customer affordability issues.
  • An outreach effort was held to identify volunteers to serve on the 2022 Rate Advisory Committee.
  • Seventeen volunteers were selected from the applications received. The Rate Advisory Committee will make recommendations to the Board of Commissioners on two policy issues:
    • Rate Design
    • Customer Assistance Programming.
