If you live near one of TVWD’s 21 water reservoirs, you’ve probably noticed just how quiet and unassuming they are. Little to no noise, no traffic, no fuss – just a reliable, behind-the-scenes neighbor that plays a major role in delivering clean, safe drinking water to our entire community.

On July 28, Water Resources Division Manager Joel Cary participated in a virtual interview with Greg Nibler of Fox 12 Now. Joel discussed the progress of the Willamette Water Supply System and explained what this important project will mean for our customers.

Our region is growing. Heat waves, stronger storm events, and wildfires are becoming more common. We know proactively securing our water resources for the future is vital. TVWD will begin delivering drinking water to customers from the Willamette Water Supply System starting in 2026.

When you turn on the tap, a complex system of infrastructure ensures that clean, reliable drinking water is there. At the heart of this system is our dedicated valve crew—highly trained professionals who play a critical role in keeping our water system operating safely and smoothly.

TVWD has successfully completed an accelerated, two-year long flushing of its entire distribution system—a 100-percent sweep of the District’s water mains—a major milestone as TVWD prepares for the new Willamette Water Supply System (WWSS).

Our commitment to serving clean, high-quality water is clear! Your drinking water is being tested all the time. Each month, samples are collected from hundreds of monitoring sites at the source and within TVWD’s distribution system.

At TVWD, we’re dedicated to providing you with safe, clean water every day. One of the ways we keep the water supply protected is through our Cross Connection Control and Backflow Prevention Program, which helps prevent contaminants from entering the water system.

In the heart of every home lies a vital resource: water. When this lifeline becomes disrupted, our dedicated Field Customer Service Team, equipped with a toolbox and a calm demeaner, are equipped with the knowledge and skill to help keep your water flowing.

Our projects sometimes requires digging up streets to install new water mains, fix leaks, or maintain our system. You might notice temporary pavement in place even after construction is complete. Permanent paving in wet or cold conditions compromises quality and shortens the road's lifespan.

TVWD completed an assessment identifying any lead-based service line materials within our public infrastructure. Service lines are the smaller pipes that connect water distribution mains to a home or business’s plumbing. No lead service lines were discovered in the water system.

On Thursday, August 29 2024, U.S. Representatives Suzanne Bonamici and Andrea Salinas, joined by TVWD Commissioner Todd Sanders and local mayors, discussed the critical role of water and drinking water infrastructure in bolstering the Washington County economy.

TVWD is pleased to announce the award of $3 million in infrastructure funding by the Oregon Legislature as part of Senate Bill 1530, signed by Governor Kotek on April 17, 2024. This funding will support TVWD’s 189th Pumpstation and Pipeline Project.

Every career has two major milestones: the beginning and the end. We recently celebrated these two milestones, though not with the people of Tualatin Valley Water District. Our fleet and construction teams said their goodbyes to Truck 43 and welcomed Truck 803 into service.
