Description

UPDATE:

  • Surveying and Utility Marking: In February/March 2026, TVWD engineering staff and survey crews will be onsite at TVWD's two SW Kemmer Road properties to conduct surveying and underground utility locates. These early steps will help reduce project construction time and limit future disruptions.

  • Future Project: A project to build a replacement pump station and additional reservoir at TVWD's Cooper Mountain property is in design. Check back for updates. Customers near the property will receive additional information as the design progresses and an invite to a “Meet the Contractor” event expected in early 2027.

Project Overview

TVWD will conduct a project to strengthen and improve the portion of the water system serving the Cooper Mountain area.

Work will occur at two TVWD properties:

18755 SW Kemmer Road

  • Build a new replacement pump station, including the installation of a new backup power generator.
  • Construct a new, concrete, 2-million-gallon reservoir.
  • Install buried waterlines to connect the two existing reservoirs at 18888 SW Kemmer Road to the new reservoir, pump station, and offsite water system piping.
  • Install a new stormwater detention facility.
  • Fence and landscape the property.

18888 SW Kemmer Road

  • Demolish and remove the existing pump station.

Project Benefits

TVWD is building a new pump station and reservoir at Cooper Mountain to replace aging infrastructure and better serve the community. Benefits include:

  • Improving Reliability: Upgrading the pump station and connecting it to multiple reservoirs means customers are less likely to experience water outages.
  • Strengthening the Water System: Having backups and multiple ways to move water makes the entire system more resilient.
  • Preparing for Future Emergencies: The improved system can keep water flowing during emergencies, including earthquakes and extreme weather.
  • Modernizing Infrastructure for Long-Term Use: Replacing an aging pump station and outdated piping ensures the system can serve current and future customers safely for decades.
  • Improving Fire Protection Support: A stronger and more stable water system helps maintain the water pressure needed for firefighting throughout the area.
