Living Next Door

Being Our Neighbor

Once the project is complete, TVWD will begin normal operations at the new facility. We pride ourselves on being good neighbors and setting expectations for living with TVWD next door. The water system tends not to host family dinners, late night parties, or play loud music.

Water operations site visits:

Certified operators will conduct daily inspections on water system equipment inside the operations building, rain or shine, holidays and weekends. Daily inspections, daily's as we call them, involve one or two operators and a single pickup truck in most cases. The inspections are done quickly and quietly, often without notice from surrounding neighbors.

Operators will conduct annual preventative maintenance on the pressure regulating valves inside the facility. These annual maintenance cycles ensure the water system's vital equipment is operating properly and helps track future replacement needs as equipment ages.

Supply deliveries will be made in regular intervals, every three to four months, to replenish things like fluoride. These will be done with medium sized delivery trucks on weekdays during business hours.

Grounds team site visits:

TVWD's grounds crew will visit the site to maintain landscaping, make repairs as needed to the facility building itself, and general upkeep of all TVWD properties. The frequency of visits ranges from weekly during the summer and fall, to monthly throughout the winter and spring, based on seasonal maintenance needs.

One or two TVWD staff or vendors typically conduct these visits, using pickup trucks or a small dump truck based on seasonal maintenance needs.
