Ridgetop Main Replacement

TVWD will replace the water main along NW Ridgetop Court to improve system reliability. Construction is scheduled to begin January 14th and take approximately six weeks to complete.

What is TVWD doing?Ridgetop Court Main

TVWD will install a new section of water main along NW Ridgetop Court east from NW 148th Avenue to NW Perimeter Court, including the cul-de-sac directly to the east. The project includes replacing 850 feet of existing 6-inch main with a larger, 8-inch, main plus installation of necessary valves and reconnection of all water services.

Why now?

The existing water main is at the end of its useful life and identified as a high priority replacement. Upgrading water mains helps to provide reliable water service into the future, reduces the chance of leaking and broken water mains, and provides greater fire protection coverage due to the increased size water main.

How does this affect me?

Depending on your property type and use, this project will affect you in different ways:

Working Times

Work will occur between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Work may periodically occur outside of these times and must be approved by Washington County. TVWD will communicate with you about any needs and approved requests to modify work hours.

Traffic Disruptions

Vehicular and pedestrian access within the project area will be limited at times during construction. TVWD will maintain access to private driveways throughout the project. Temporary driveway access may be provided by placing steel plates over the exposed work areas while that section is being installed and connected, which is typically one day.

This project will include at least two incidents of lane closures on NW West Union Road; one when the new main is connected and one when the current main is disconnected.

General Construction Disruptions

During construction, heavy equipment and materials will be located in the project work area. These areas will be clearly marked with cones and/or caution tape.

When construction is occurring, noise and dust may be present.

Water Service Disruptions

Once the new water main is installed, your water service will be connected to the new main. To do this, your water will be turned off for 15 to 30 minutes change the connection.

When the entire project is complete, TVWD will disconnect the original water main. That process requires a service disruption lasting approximately four hours. An additional service disruption will likely occur when crews connect the new water main to TVWD's water system at NW West Union Road.

Water service disruptions are typically scheduled in the middle of the day when most residents are at work. It is TVWD's goal to minimize the water service disruption time for all users. You will be notified by door hanger at least 48 hours in advance of when these service disruptions are planned.

Special Needs

If you or a resident of your home has unique needs, such as medical condition requiring access to fire/ambulance service, please contact us so accommodations can be worked out in advance.
