Grabhorn Reservoir Replacement Project

Grabhorn North Roof Pour TVWD is replacing the existing Grabhorn Reservoir, a water storage system that was built in 1971 and is at the end of its useful life. The project includes replacing the 5 million-gallon GrabhornReservoir with a seismically resilient 5 million-gallon reservoir, a new valve house and pipes, as well as site improvements.

Construction is expected to be complete by July 2019.

Check out our short video about what the site looked like and the measures we are taking to protect the surrounding environment and construction features.

Construction Updates:

Ongoing Reservoir Water Main Installations

Grabhorn-Mains Map

Noted by blue lines on the map and to be installed in small sections to minimize impact to neighbors in the construction area.

TVWD's contractor for the Grabhorn Reservoir replacement, Emery & Sons, will install the two water mains along SW Leland Drive from SW Lillian Court to SW Grabhorn Road. Work is currently underway and expected to take approximately three months to complete.

How does this affect me?

Working Times

Work will occur between the hours of 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Work may periodically occur outside of these times if approved by the county.

Traffic Disruptions

Vehicular and pedestrian access within the project area will be limited at times during construction. TVWD will maintain access to private driveways throughout the project. Temporary driveway access may be provided by placing steel plates over the exposed work areas while that section is being installed and connected, which is typically one day.

General Construction Disruptions

During construction, heavy equipment and materials will be located in the work area. These areas will be clearly marked with cones and/or caution tape. When construction is occurring, noise and dust may be present.

Water Service Disruptions

Service disruptions are not currently expected. If service distruptions are required, customers will be notified by door hanger at least 48 hours in advance of when these service disruptions are planned.

What Is the Timeline?

The overall work will last up to three months, though individual sections' timelines will vary. Work will start on SW Lilian Court and progress down SW Leland Drive toward SW Grabhorn Road.
