TVWD Receives Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting

The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) awarded Tualatin Valley Water District (TVWD) the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its 2012 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). This is the 22nd consecutive year TVWD received the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. This year, TVWD is only one of two water districts in Oregon to receive the prestigious award.

"There is a ton of work that goes into preparing one of these," said Roger Dawes, President-Elect of the Oregon Municipal Finance Association. "Your staff is to be commended for their quality work and you have an excellent staff."

The CAFR was judged by an impartial panel of experts from around the country to meet extremely high standards for financial reporting. These standards included demonstrating a "constructive spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate TVWD's financial story and motivate potential users to read the CAFR.

"TVWD is dedicated to having a useful and transparent budget process," said TVWD Chief Executive Officer Greg DiLoreto. "Receiving this certificate for the 22nd year validates the great work from our Finance Department."
